The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
For over a year, I met bi-weekly on Zoom with a few close girlfriends. As we worshiped, prayed, and shared the core of our lives with one another, we often lingered for several hours. These gatherings quickly became a treasured part of my rhythm.
The five of us took turns facilitating the meeting.
One week, the leader presented two questions for us to consider and pray about: What is the song Jesus sings over your life? What hinders you from fully responding to your identity and/or the song He sings?
I’d been praying about these questions on the go but didn’t get a chance to sit still and listen to the Spirit about them until the evening before our call. As I sat quietly, my heart open, I began to hear Jesus singing over me. It wasn’t audible—I’ve heard that once, years ago—but His voice was so clear in my thoughts, I knew it was Him. Over and over and over He repeated the same line…
